DTF Transfer Application & Care Instructions

DTF TRANSFER APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

For the best results, please read all instructions before applying your transfer.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

For best results, we recommend using a heat press. Household irons may not provide the consistent temperature and pressure needed for proper DTF application.

Make sure your garment is clean, dry, and placed smoothly on the heat press before beginning.

STEP 1: PRE-PRESS

Preheat your heat press to 300°F.

Press the garment for 3–5 seconds to remove excess moisture and wrinkles. Allow the garment to cool briefly before positioning the transfer.

STEP 2: POSITION YOUR TRANSFER

Place the DTF transfer in the desired position with the:

  • White adhesive side facing the garment
  • Printed image facing up

Make sure the transfer is positioned correctly before pressing.

STEP 3: PRESS

Press the transfer at:

Temperature: 300°F
Time: 15 seconds
Pressure: Firm

Apply consistent pressure across the entire transfer.

STEP 4: COOL

Carefully remove the garment from the heat press and place it on a flat, heat-safe surface.

Allow the transfer to cool before peeling.

STEP 5: PEEL

Once cooled, slowly and carefully peel the carrier film away from the garment.

If any part of the design begins to lift with the film, stop peeling. Lay the film back into position, press the transfer again, allow it to cool, and then carefully re-peel.

STEP 6: FINAL PRESS

After removing the carrier film, cover the design with parchment paper, butcher paper, or an appropriate heat-resistant finishing sheet.

Press again for approximately 5 seconds using firm pressure.

Remove the garment from the press and allow it to cool.

IMPORTANT

Heat presses, garments, and fabrics can vary. The instructions above are the recommended starting settings for Kreole Designz DTF transfers.

For unfamiliar garments or materials, check the garment manufacturer's heat recommendations before pressing. Avoid applying transfers over seams, zippers, buttons, or other uneven surfaces that may prevent consistent pressure.

Application requirements may vary by transfer. Always follow the application instruction card included with your order, as those instructions are specific to the transfer you received.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To help protect your finished design:

  • Allow the garment to rest before its first wash
  • Turn the garment inside out before washing
  • Machine wash in cold water
  • Use a mild detergent
  • Do not use bleach
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry when possible
  • Do not dry clean
  • Do not iron directly over the transferred design

FOR BEST RESULTS

Proper temperature, time, and pressure all play an important role in successful DTF application. Follow the instructions carefully and make sure the entire design receives even pressure during both presses.
